Joint Utility Unions and the P.U.P. Come Out in Support of Teachers

Primary and secondary school teachers across the country are heading to the Capital as the B.N.T.U. gets into gear for Wednesday’s demonstration.  The union is also picking up support from other trade unions, including the utility workers.  Earlier today, the Joint Utility Unions, comprised of the Belize Energy Workers Union, Communications Workers Union and the Water Services Workers Union, issued a release expressing solidarity with B.N.T.U.  They are calling on the government to revisit the issues affecting teachers. The Joint Utility Unions say they have taken serious interest, monitoring the progress of this developing situation and are ready to come to B.N.T.U.’s aide if the need arises.  The People’s United Party has also issued a release, coming out in support of teachers, whom it says are very important to shaping our society.
