18 Year Old Charged for Pen Road Shooting
An eighteen-year-old Belize City resident has been arrested and charged for the attempt made on the life of Damien Leslie, which occurred last Wednesday on Neal Pen Road in Belize City. In the aftermath of the shooting, police detained one of the alleged shooter in the incident. That person, Austin Williams was formally charged for the crime of use of deadly means of harm and wounding. Police say that Williams was on a motorcycle with another man when he opened fire on Leslie who was in a parked vehicle with a female friend.

“The initial information that police have is that Mr. Leslie was on Neal’s Pen Road talking to some female inside of a vehicle when they were approached by two male persons riding a motorcycle. They came from the direction of Central American Boulevard going up towards Neal’s Pen Road. The motorcycle stopped at a distance behind the vehicle and from there the passenger came off of the motorcycle and fired two single shots in the direction of Mr. Leslie, causing the injuries to him.”
