Second Person Charged for Murder of Lamont Lipka
A Belize City resident has been charged for the murder of American restaurateur Lamont Lipka. Lipka was executed in front of his patrons inside his business, Tropicana Bar & Grill on Coconut Drive, back on May thirteenth. For the past six months, police had been searching for a trio believed to have been responsible for the murder. But earlier this month, on November sixth, twenty-one-year-old Tracey Betancourt was arrested and charged for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Tonight, twenty-three-year-old Leon Walford joins Betancourt at the Central Prison after he too was arrested and charged for the brazen homicide.
Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino, C.I.B., Belize City
“Police charged Leon Walford, a twenty-three-year-old Belize City resident for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He is charged jointly with Miss Tracy Betancourt earlier last week.”

“Would you speak about the circumstances of his arrest? I understand he was picked up on Sunday in Belize City?”
Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino
“Yes, he was picked up and subsequently charged. That is all I can say.”
