1 Person Sought for Ontario Home Invasion
Fifty-five-year-old Teakettle resident, Simeon Alvaro Perez remains hospitalized at the Western Regional Hospital in a stable condition, following an early morning home invasion at his place of work in Ontario Village. Perez was defending his employer at the DeYoung residence on the hilltop off the Prayer Mountain Road because four armed thieves had accosted a thirty-six-year-old American woman and her two children. During the struggle with the robbers, Perez was stabbed as many as twelve times to the body with a knife, before one of the thieves struck him across the head with the shovel. The burglars got away with electronic devices and an undisclosed amount of cash, but not before the owner and one of her sons were assaulted. ACP Joseph Myvett confirmed that this is the second such incident in two months at the DeYoung residence.

“She was awaken by four dark-skinned male persons who were masked—two of whom were armed with firearms whilst the remainder had knifes. Her home was entered where in the process; herself and two of the children were forced inside one of the rooms and she was hit in the head with one of the firearms, where she suffered an injured. And also her son received minor injuries after being choked by one of those assailants. In the process of the commotion, her caretaker came to her aid and he too was beaten by those persons where he received several stab wounds. He was transported to the Western Regional Hospital where he is in a stable condition.”

Police are looking for one suspect in connection with this incident.
