Taxi driver found guilty of rape
A taxi driver who was found guilty of rape on Tuesday will be spending twelve years behind bars. Thirty-nine year old Levi Jackson got the bad news today after he told Justice Oswell Legall that he had no character witness to give mitigation pleas on his behalf. Jackson was not represented by an attorney while Senior Crown Counsel Cecil Ramirez represented the prosecution. The incident occurred on August twenty-seventh 2007 when Jackson picked up the victim, a mother of four, at mile five on the Western Highway. But instead of taking the woman to her destination, he took her to a feeder road at Hattieville where Jackson beat and raped her.
