A Sleeping Couple Awoken By Gunshots Inside Their Bedroom

A couple is lucky to be alive tonight after narrowly escaping with their lives when a hail of bullets was fired into their home in the early hours of Sunday morning.  Vilma Robinson and Erick McLarly were fast asleep inside a residence in the Eight Mile Community when the echo of gunshots startled them out of their slumber.  Before they could dive for cover under the bed, they had been shot.  Luckily, neither of them was fatally injured.  But what could have triggered the predawn ambush?  According to police, forty-eight-year-old Robinson told them that she had a recent altercation with an unnamed individual whom they are now seeking as a prime suspect.  As many as five bullets perforated the exterior walls of the house, entering from the rear of the bedroom and exiting through the side walls nearby.

“On November twenty-fifth, police received information that persons were being transported from Eight Miles Community with gunshot wounds to the K.H.M.H.  Upon arrival, police observed Ms. Vilma Robinson, a forty-eight-year-old resident of Eight Miles with a gunshot wound to the right leg and Erick McLarly, a thirty-eight-year-old resident of the same address with two gunshot wounds to the right leg and one to the left leg.  From what police have gathered so far is that both were sleeping at the residence when they were awakened by six to eight loud gunshots.  Before they managed to take cover they realized that they had received the injuries.  Ms. Robinson has indicated to police that she had had a previous misunderstanding with a gentleman and police are seeking this person as a person of interest in regards to the shooting.”

“So is that believed at this time to be the reason for the shooting sir?”

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino

“No, but however, it is a lead and we are following it up?”

Reporter

“What is the condition of Mr. McLarly?”

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino

“Both injuries are not life threatening.  They are in stable condition.”

Reporter

“Because it does sound strange sir that a middle-aged couple comes under fire from a gunman in the middle of the night.  Were any of the persons, are they believed to be the intended targets, were they looking for someone else?  Any indication like that…”

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino

“Apparently they are the intended target, the shots were fired at their residence and like I said, we are following up that lead.”
