No Identity for Body Found, Croc(s) Ate Face and Limbs
Investigators are still unable to identify the body of a middle-aged, Hispanic man which was found on Wednesday in the Orange Walk District. The body was fished out of the New River near the Orange Walk bypass in the afternoon. Both arms were missing and police believe that the face and abdomen were disfigured by crocodiles. While the cause of death could not be established, investigators do not believe that foul play was involved. ACP Joseph Myvett shared more details.

“However it is suspected that it may be Nerry Montenegro from August Pine Ridge.”

“Well that is also being looked at. However according to the doctors this person has been dead for some four days and Nerry Montenegro went missing somewhere around the twenty fifth of November.”
Montenegro’s mother strongly believes that it is her son, Nerry, based on dental records. She says Nerry, who battled with alcoholism, would leave their home in August Pine Ridge and would experience epileptic shocks.
