Belizean teacher publishes book of poems
Valentine’s Day might almost be over, and well if your bouquet of roses or box of chocolates got lost in the rush, don’t worry, your significant other still has time to make it up to you. One local high school teacher has published a book of love poems, and even though it’s called “Broken Hearts”, it’s supposed to do the trick.

“The question I would like to ask is, who hasn’t experienced a broken heart. We all love and we all tend to feel like we know what love is. But I feel that unless we find out what true love is, which means that we allow the tree of love–which is exactly what you’ll see right here on the cover–to grow deep in our hearts, we will always be searching and searching.”

“That one should be very easy. It is the season of love, and truthfully, this book will always be special for anybody to buy because love is a season that never runs out. But it’s Valentine and this is something different, it is something new. People are used to buying flowers and chocolates and so on, I don’t think that they’ve ever had a complete compilation of love poems, and this is something new. I think it could be something very special. And it caters to everybody who is in love.”

The day of roses, the days of hearts
Upon us draws so near
I ask you to be my Valentine
As this day draws new and clear
This love I nurture deep within
Saved specially for a day
When two hearts join together as one
And all fears are put away
Deep in my heart pumps a strong love
As red as the blood in your veins
My mind sings out a tune of true love song
And my voice calls out your name
And when I see your loving face
Which sends me to cloud nine
My love, one I wish I ask of you
Please, today, Be my Valentine.
