N.T.U.C.B. to Take on In-house Changes
According to Mora, a number of items were on the agenda at the AGM and among the organizations priorities is a restructuring exercise.
Marvin Mora, President, N.T.U.C.B.
“There were several points of discussion. We are looking also at doing some in-house work, you know, reorganizing and properly organizing the NTUCB. One of the main things that was accomplished in doing that was a resolution that would allow members elections to be staggered so that you will always have people within the executive that will have the benefit of past experience. So that’s one of the main things. We also spoke a little bit about the ICJ question, so it’s something that we have to revisit again and go back to our general membership for more guidance. We also addressed matters that were still pending that are very important to the trade union movement as is the Occupational Safety and Hazard Safety Bill that still has not been passed in this country. So there were several very important points that we had to address.”
