Lovindeer lands in Belize for Valentines
If Belize is getting tired of seeing the best entertainers in the Caribbean, performing somewhat past their pinnacle of popularity, you’d never know it by the welcome they received at the airport.

One of Jamaica’s multi-talented singers, songwriters, producers and composers, Lloyd Lovindeer touched down at the Philip Goldson International Airport this afternoon. He was met by Deputy Mayor Yasmin Shoman and Counsellor Lillette Barkley Waite, who presented him with a City Council flag and pin to welcome him to the city.
Lovindeer, who is on his second visit to Belize City, is the main act for Love FM’s ninth anniversary celebrations, which coincides with Valentine’s weekend on Saturday. A dance is scheduled to take place at the Princess Hotel featuring Santino’s Messengers, Gilharry 7, Super G and Mr. Lover himself.

“All those songs like; No Bend down, Babylon Boops, One Day Christian, Wild Gilbert and a couple of the new songs. Good vibes in the place.”

“What are some of the your new songs?”
Lovindeer
“New songs like Puss Catcher, Hot Gyal Party, and a couple of the Calypso songs I’ll be doing for Carnival in Jamaica we’ll be doing here as well.”
And for those of you wondering what ever happened to Mr. Lover since making waves in the early 1990s, this is what he had to say.

“As far as the DJ music is concerned, there’s a cycle in the music business. As the years go by, the younger DJ come up, so you start hearing about the younger artist and you don’t hear much about the older ones before. So it’s not that I’ve stopped doing music, it’s just that there are some other guys come up now just as good, even better, like Bounty Killer and those kind of people. I’m still making some music, and you’ll hear them when you come to the concert.”
Promoter and CEO of RSV Limited, Rene Villanueva, says Love FM prefers to promote artists who bring back memories of days gone by.

“Love FM as you know, has an oldies base. It tries to bring back old times and make people relive good times that they once had. And I’m sure a lot of people have memories of Wild Gilbert, One-Day Christian, Pocomania Day, Babylon Boops and all. We all grew up listening to those songs, but we have never seen the artist live performing those songs. And so we thought it would be a good idea to bring back these memories to people.”
