Car found but still no break in Chin murder

Story Picture
Police are today trying to piece together clues that may help them solve the mystery of who killed well-known contractor Phillip Chin. They are still not certain if Chin was abducted from his house at mile two and a half on the Northern Highway or went willingly with whoever decided to shoot him and dump the body on the roadside at mile twenty-five. That body was discovered by a passer-by on Tuesday morning. Based on their inability to find the licensed revolver that Chin usually carried, police strongly suspect he was killed with his own weapon. The lack of shell casings near his corpse suggests that he was murdered elsewhere and transported to mile twenty-five in a vehicle. That vehicle is believed to be Chin’s own 1987 Toyota Four-Runner. This morning it was discovered abandoned on the old Northern Highway. Police declined to comment on any evidence that may have been found inside. Police are also tight-lipped about a possible motive for the crime. Sources tell News 5 that no money was found on Chin’s body and that robbery, perhaps by people with whom he was acquainted, was at the root of his death.
