Fire on Tibruce Street; Blaze Extinguished by Cops
The second fire on Boxing Day happened right here in Belize City. The National Fire Service says that around six-thirty that evening flames were spotted inside a wooden home on Tibruce Street. But police officers who were nearby quickly extinguished the blaze. The house, according to fire officials, was occupied by one person. Here’s more from the national fire service on this latest house fire.

“The Belize City Branch of the National Fire Service responded to reports from the police of a structural fire on Tibruce Street, Lake Independence Area, Belize City. On arrival on scene, there were no visible flames or smoke from the structure. Found was a thirty by fifty wooden structure. Preliminary investigations revealed that there were three separate non-connecting points of origin on the interior of the structure and at least one on the exterior of the structure. The fire, fortunately, was put up by efforts of police patrol in the area. The fire is classified as incendiary in nature.”
