Police Officer Victim of Hit and Run
Twenty-five-year-old Police Constable Keenon Bennett is tonight at the K.H.M.H. recuperating after he was knocked down on Wednesday night. Bennett, a member of the Special Patrol Unit, was on duty, patrolling Saint Martin’s Area on a motorcycle. When PC Bennett was at the corner of Mahogany and Santa Barbara Streets, he was hit from the rear by a white vehicle. The driver of the vehicle attempted to escape but as ASP Alejandro Cowo explained, he was quickly caught by police officers who were also in the area.

“The vehicle sped off and made good its escape. Police in the area pursued the vehicle and later on detained two persons who were inside the vehicle, a male and a female. The police was taken to the hospital where he is still admitted in a stable condition. The persons are still in custody and police are dealing with this matter at this moment. He has received injuries to his head.”
