Cayo man dies in bar brawl

A teenager from the Cayo District is dead tonight after a late night brawl. According to police, eighteen year old Allen Smith Flowers, a resident of Teakettle Village, was involved in a fight with another young man at about 11:00 on Wednesday. A set of brass knuckles was introduced to the melee and when it was over, Flowers had sustained serious injuries to his head. He was rushed to the Belmopan hospital, bleeding from his ears and nose and later died while undergoing treatment. Police have detained the heavy-handed boxer and charges are expected to be filed against him on Friday. It is not clear exactly what the men were fighting over.
