Manhunt continues for accused killer

Story Picture
The countrywide manhunt for the prime suspect in string of violent murders continues tonight with police no closer to bringing Jermaine Fuentes also known as Jermaine de Paz into custody. The fugitive’s last known whereabouts were at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday when he tried to pay a visit to thirty-six year old Joel Waight, one of the men he is suspected of shooting. Apparently, police had posted several pictures of Fuentes in the ward, but for some unknown reason, a security guard had taken them down. So when Fuentes walked in, no one recognised him. Fortunately for Waight, there was a no visitor rule in effect and Fuentes was turned away. Following his close call, this afternoon Waight voluntarily discharged himself from the hospital, citing a lack of confidence in the Police Department and a general fear for his life. It is alleged that on Sunday night, Waight was with Fuentes in an area near Belizean Beach when he was shot in the head and spine. Left for dead by his assailants, Waight managed to get himself to the house of relatives living nearby.
