In a third accident, though not fatal, a police officer crashed on his motorcycle in Camalote Village over the weekend. The officer was driving his cycle around six-thirty that evening when he slammed into an oncoming vehicle in the village. Police say that the officer was overtaking another vehicle when it collided into a pickup traveling in the opposite direction. The officer is hospitalized in a stable condition. ASP Alejandro Cowo shares more details of this road traffic accident.

“Roaring Creek Police visited Camalote Village where they observed a black in color Wingle pick-up and also a black in color motorcycle. Beside the motorcycle they found a police officer wearing his uniform suffering from abrasions and a left broken leg. What police have gathered so far is that the police officer was driving his motorcycle en route from towers in the San Ignacio area and upon reaching the Camalote area he overtook a vehicle and there he ran into the Great Wall Wingle that was coming from San Ignacio towards to the Roaring Creek. As a result, the motorcycle was extensively damaged and he sustained several injuries. He was transported the Belmopan Hospital and thereafter to the KHMH. The driver of the pickup, Ms Priscilla Budna sustained minor injuries and her vehicle was also extensively damaged. She was served with an NIP and samples were taken from her.”

The police officer is admitted in stable condition.
