Ex-policeman found murdered
Tonight Belmopan police are still searching for clues after a former colleague was found murdered just off the Hummingbird Highway. On Wednesday, the body of forty year old Raymond Olivera, a retired police corporal, was found about two hundred yards off the highway near Ring Tail Village, which is located near Blue Hole National Park. There were visible signs of violence to the victim, including what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the back. The body has been transported to the Belmopan Hospital where it awaits a post-mortem. News 5 understands that Olivera had been with the department since 1978 and retired from duty in August of 2000. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the nearest police station.
