Orange Walk Mother and Daughter Reunited After Hellish Ordeal
Tonight there is good news to report. Three-year-old Vera Timofeev and her mother Raquel Margarita Cocom have been reunited after a hellish ordeal. The mother and daughter returned to Belize today and were accompanied by Elisa Castellanos of Tukkun Olam Belize. Cocom and Castellanos arrived in Fairfield Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday. On the following day Cocom and Vera were reunited after being separated on November fifth, 2017. The child’s biological father, Russian national, Andre Timofeev, took Vera to South Carolina under false pretenses. He said that they would have returned in two weeks, but that did not happen and Cocom worst fears came true. Timofeev had retained total control of the child. Cocom then turned to Castellanos for assistance, who contacted Mathew Abby and Billy McGee, attorneys attached to Nelson Mullins. This law firm is considered to be one of the largest firms in the U.S., specializing in cases relating to the Hague Child Abduction Convention. Before leaving the U.S., Vera and her mother were taken to the local zoo for some fun on Monday.
