Ombudsman says men were not tortured

Story Picture
Since this story broke on Wednesday night, the Police Department has asked the public to believe it is entirely plausible that two young men drowned simultaneously in a practically stagnant river that isn’t very deep and is dotted with trees. Whether cramps were the culprits or not, a double drowning is certainly a rare event, especially when the deceased are suspected cop killers on the run.

Given the highly suspicious circumstances of their deaths, public outcry was significant. Perhaps this was why Ombudsman Paul Rodriguez was one of the people on hand for the autopsies of Psycho and Velasquez. Today Rodriguez tells News 5 that despite the allegations that at least one of the men had missing teeth and showed signs of violence to the body, he witnessed nothing out of the ordinary on either man.

Ann-Marie Williams

“The mother went the first night with you, and she said…before we interview her, as a matter of fact she called Krem Radio in the morning in tears saying, my son has no teeth. This is a mother speaking, and she said when she went to the autopsy, it seemed like that had already made dentures for him. What is the response?”

Paul Rodriguez, Ombudsman

“Well, I did not shake or touch the teeth, but the teeth were perfectly intact, top and bottom, except that there was a, I think it was the third molar was missing, but I that I think I understand from other people, was an old… So as far as I could see, that if the teeth had been knocked out, there would have been some mark of violence on the gum.”

Ann-Marie Williams

“So you think the mother is actually lying?”

Paul Rodriguez

“No, no, I’m not saying that. Actually, I think that the reaction of the mother is completely normal and natural.”
