Belize exports first shipment of crude soybean oil
In other news in the agriculture sector, Belize exported its first shipment of crude soybean oil to Jamaica last week. The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce announced that this is the first ever shipment of soybean oil to the region. Bel-Car Exports and Imports in Spanish Lookout and Northern Grains Cooperative in Blue Creek, Orange Walk are the two suppliers who met import requirements and were able to supply the quantities demanded by Jamaica. The Ministry says that since 2016, its EXPORTBelize unit and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade have been building awareness for the demand for both crude and refined soybean oil within the Spanish Lookout and Blue Creek communities.
