Bz. City sisters injured in store attack
Two Belize City sisters are in hospital tonight after being attacked by armed assailants on Sunday night. According to police, twenty-nine year old Alice Mak, her sister Shelley and their brother, Brian were just about to close A-Mak store on Central American Boulevard around 9:00 p.m. when four men forced their way into the shop. The men demanded money and Brian ran upstairs to call the police. While on the phone, Mak says he heard gunshots. When he went back downstairs, he saw his sister Alice bleeding from a cut to her head while Shelley had been shot in her left leg and cut on her right leg. The women were rushed to Medical Associates where they are in a stable condition. Police have not disclosed whether or not anything was taken from the store. No arrests have been made. At this time it is not believed that this incident is connected to the other shooting over the weekend.
