Body found in Dangriga identified

Police have identified the body of a man found in the sea off Dangriga on Monday. According to police, he is twenty-one year old Shedrack Norris Jorgensen, a messenger of Ebony Street in Belize City. Jorgensen was found in the waters off the Dangriga Town Pier dressed only in his boxer shorts. The body is at the Southern Regional Hospital awaiting a post-mortem. Police do not suspect foul play, however, family members who contacted our newsroom today feel differently. The family says Jorgensen went South on Sunday morning to visit with his children and was due back in the city that evening. They are convinced Jorgensen was beaten and killed by a second party, disrobed and thrown into the sea.
