An Initiative to Combat Gender-Based Violence in Belize
The U.S. Embassy has teamed up with well-known Belizean entrepreneur, Marie Sharp in an initiative to combat gender-based violence in Belize. This Thursday, a special product Pure Love Pineapple Habanero Sauce will be officially launched. Both entities believe that the violence must stop, and that the funds generated from the sales of the new product will go to Haven House and directly benefit victims of gender-based violence. On Monday, Minister of State Tracy Panton spoke about the venture.

“A special product that has been developed…commissioned by the U.S. Embassy and developed by Marie Sharp that is going to be promoting the issue of domestic violence in the country. Proceeds from the sale of each bottle will be put to a domestic violence prevention fund that will be administered by the U.S. Government officials. So I think it is an important partnership, it is for a very important cause and as you know, Marie Sharp being one of our foremost entrepreneurs in this country has always given of her time and talent to very important issues such as domestic violence.”
