Chopping in Unitedville Leaves Michael Smith Seriously Injured

There was a vicious chopping incident that occurred in Unitedville on Wednesday night where Michael Smith, a resident of that community, was reportedly attacked by a pair of men.  The assault, during which he was chopped multiple times with a machete, was precipitated by an argument outside of a convenient store in that village.

“Last night, shortly before nine p.m., San Ignacio Police responded to a chopping incident in Unitedville Village whereupon arrival they learned that one Michael Smith was at a shop buying when he obviously had a confrontation with someone who inflicted a chop wound to him.  As a result, he was transported to the Western Regional Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.  Police so far have one person detained and are seeking one more person in respect to this investigation.”
