Charges Withdrawn Again from Primrose Gabourel & Dion Zabaneh

Seventy-six-year-old Primrose Gabourel and her son forty-three-year-old Dion Zabaneh were back in court today after the Department of Environment brought charges once again for failure to adhere to stop orders and continue to develop on a seashore property that has been a question of concern. Six charges were to be read to the mother and son before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, but as was the case two weeks ago, there were major errors in the court book.  In the absence of DOE’s legal counsel Jeavon Hulse and in the chambers of Senior Magistrate Ford, the mother and son saw the charges against them withdrawn once again. Attorney Emil Arguellas told the court reporter that there is a legislation which offers immunity against public officers when they are doing wrong. And when they are doing wrong, it is an abuse of process.
