Edward Conorquie Shot and Left for Dead in Mango Creek

Edward Conorquie

Twenty-two-year-old Edward Conorquie remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H., following an incident over the weekend during which he was shot multiple times near the outskirts of Independence Village, in the south.  It is unclear what triggered the shooting.  What investigators do know is that the Belize City resident was a long way from home when he was fired upon and left for dead along the Southern Highway.  Conorquie was found by persons in that area at dawn on Sunday morning.

“Independence police were called to the Independence Polyclinic where they observed a male person with head and body injuries.  He was immediately transported to the Southern Regional Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where his name was later learned to be Edward Conorquie, twenty-two-years-old of a Vernon Street address in Belize City.  Initial investigation revealed that Conorquie was at a function in Independence Village and sometime between four and five a.m., he was picked up by civilians just outside of Independence and taken to the polyclinic with these injuries.”
