Afternoon accident injures doctor
Shortly before 4:00 on Thursday evening, residents of Princess Margaret Drive heard a loud noise and then the screeching of tires. By the time they looked outside, they discovered an overturned Nissan Xterra lying in the middle of the road. The vehicle, driven by Doctor Morali Rudraja, went out of control and flipped several times before it came to rest on its roof. Rudraja, who was wearing his seatbelt, luckily escaped with only minor injuries to his hand. According to the Police, the doctor was trying to overtake a wide-bodied truck, which was driven by Valerio Yama. Yama told police he had indicated that he was making a right turn when the other vehicle tried to pass him on the left side. The space proved too narrow, however, and the SUV’s left wheel hit the median, causing it to flip.
