Police seek Mexicans in double murder
Police are tonight focussing on a Mexican connection in the murder of two Belize City men early Sunday morning. Investigators believe that Edward Felix and Anthony Haylock, proprietor and employee of Trends Guesthouse on Freetown Road, may have been killed by a trio of guests at the establishment who checked in but apparently left without notice. One of the three men, whose name has not been released by police, signed on behalf of the group and gave an address in Quintana Roo. They were well on their way by daylight and are thought to have quickly crossed the border into Mexico. Authorities are asking the Mexican Government for help in locating the suspects who are believed to be driving a black Volkswagon Beetle. Although rumours abound, police are tight-lipped about a motive for the brutal killings. Felix was stabbed nineteen times in the back, while Haylock received sixteen knife wounds as well as three hammer blows to the back of the head.
