No verdict yet in Dennison retrial

As we speak, the jury in the trial of Winston Dennison is still in deliberation. Forty year old Dennison, also known as “Mannan”, is being re-tried for the murder of twenty year old Darren Sutherland in the Supreme Court. Dennison was found guilty by a jury of his peers and given the death sentence in October 2000, but he got another chance to convince twelve new jurors of his innocence after it was accepted that evidence presented in his first trail was insufficient and may have even been tainted. Dennison himself took the stand for over four hours during a two-day period in his defence. Dennison was charged with the murder after Sutherland was shot in his mouth at point blank range during a misunderstanding in April 1999 at the corner of Central American and Jane Usher Boulevards in Belize City.
