Two persons chopped up in Caye Caulker; one man charged
One man remains hospitalized following a vicious chopping incident in Caye Caulker last Thursday. Police say two persons were attacked by a man who claims to be mentally ill – that person inflicted several chop wounds to the two victims. The attacker Ephrain Puc has since been slapped with a slew of charges – two counts of attempted murder; one count of bodily means of harm; one count of maim and one count of dangerous harm. Police say that the victims once offered lodging to Puc but a while back he became violent to the family. The cops in Caye Caulker had also expelled Puc from the island but he kept returning. A.S.P. Alejandro Cowo shares the details of what transpired in Caye Caulker.

“Police visited the Caye Caulker Polyclinic where they observed two male persons that they identified as Lee Rosado and Julian Rosado. Both of them had several chop wounds to the body. They were transported to the KHMH where they were treated; one was released the following day but the other one still presently admitted. What police understand is that both of them were on the north side of Caye Caulker when they had a misunderstanding with another male person who also doesn’t live far from where they are lodging; a dispute over groceries and other items stolen from the Rosado brothers Therefore, the Rosados went to confront he male person and he pulled out a machete and chopped both of them. The charges have been levied. It is being said that the suspects is a mental patient but there is nothing definitely to say that he is. We know that Caye Caulker police used to assist him with getting his injections on timely manner and that he had already been removed from the island because of his behaviour but he apparently went back to the island again.”
