Woman shot two weeks after attempt on son’s life
An elderly woman was shot inside her house on Thursday night just after ten. The incident happened on Marage Road in Ladyville near Compassion Lane. Margaret Elijio and her family were at home when a gunman fired a shot that caught her in the shoulder. Today police say that they believe that the bullet was meant for Elijio’s son. Jeffrey Elijio was shot on the night of March fourth when he was inside his house with his family. He was recently released from the hospital and the gunman may have been led to believe that he was inside the house with his mother. A.S.P. Alejandro Cowo tells us more about the shooting.

“Ms Margaret Elijio, seventy-year-old from Marage Road address, was at her house with family members when several shots were heard and they took cover inside the house. Thereafter, she noticed that she had been injured and she was brought to the hospital with an injury to the right upper-shoulder. She is still admitted in a stable condition. All we know is that she was inside her residence with other family members and it was more than one person who went to fire several shots at the residence. She is the mother of Jeffery Elijio and he was just discharged that morning from hospital. There are several theories that we have been following up but we have approached the family to ask them what might be causing the shooting but we have not received as much information from them. They are cooperating but only to a certain extent.”

“Sir, so we don’t know who exactly was the target of that shooting?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“We suspect that they were looking for Jeffery Elijio however at the time he was not at the residence.”
