Lotto: sitting pretty at $105,000

Story Picture
Playing the numbers has always been a scientific art…your winning combination might come to you in your dreams, from a candy wrapper or might even be relayed to you by your neighbourhood “Ms. Cleo”. But whatever method you use, tomorrow is the big day to find out if your numbers have what it takes to take home the 105,000 incentives to buy a Lotto ticket before six-thirty tomorrow evening. This afternoon, Ann-Marie Williams took to the streets to find out how some of you pick your numbers before buying what she hopes is the winning ticket.

Ann-Marie Williams, Reporting

With $105,000 to be won in this Wednesday’s lotto, every man and woman is making sure they have a chance in this high stakes game, where any number can play.

Ann-Marie Williams

“What are your chances of winning with six tickets in the Lotto for tomorrow?”

Citizen #1

“One in a million.”

Actually, it’s not that bad. Your chance of winning is one in 237,336. However, the odds aren’t deterring Lotto buyers we spoke with, as each feels it could happen to them.

Citizen #2

“No worry bout it, I done win. So I no worry about who else buy.”

Citizen #3

“I already bought. I spent eight dollars Wednesday and eight dollars Saturday.”

Ann-Marie Williams

“And you feel that it could happen to you, you might be the next big Lotto winner?”

Citizen #3

“Yeah. If I win I give Ann-Marie something.”

Citizen #4

“I usually buy my children’s age. I have five children.”

Whatever method you employ to win, how about trying mine. 31 for tomorrow’s date. It’s also Halloween, when witches and black cats roam, how about a 9 for their 9 lives. 10 and 5 for the $105,000 and 1 for the date on which you’ll collect your handsome prize money. The numbers once again, 31, 9, 10, 5 and 1. Any takers?

Citizen #5

“You only need one to win, so I going to buy two to make sure. But I always buy, there are times when I buy twenty, thirty tickets.”

Citizen #1

“It’s just luck that’s all.”

Ann-Marie Williams

“And you feel like it could happen to you.”

Citizen #1

“Definitely, that’s why I buy. If I feel that I wouldn’t win, I’d never buy.”

Ann-Marie Williams for News 5.

Lotto ticket vendors throughout the country stop sales at 6:30, but the Tropical Gaming Company office sells tickets until 7:00 p.m. The lotto draw can be seen right here on Channel 5 at 9:00 tomorrow night.
