Several Detained for UB Student’s Murder

On Wednesday we reported on the gruesome killing of U.B. Student Kevin Frutos. The twenty-six-year-old went missing on Friday and his body was discovered in a shallow grave around eight-thirty on Wednesday morning. He had been robbed and his throat slashed. According to police, the investigation has shed new light on Frutos’ last hours. He was last seen alive socializing with a group of guys – persons he had only met that night. Those persons are now in custody and Police say that they have recovered Frutos’ personal belongings. Here’s more from Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch.

“So far police have several persons in their custody and the evidence gathered so far has been submitted to the D.P.P. for her directives. We are of the opinion that charges are likely to be brought against several of those persons. He was socializing at a nightclub in Belmopan with new persons he met that night. The motive so far seems to have robbery.”
