A Contraband Bust in the North
There was a major contraband bust in the north. San Victor Village in the Corozal District is a well known area for illegal crossing into Mexico to purchase contraband goods and has been a hotspot for the Customs and Excise, as well as the Police Department. This morning, between five o’clock and seventy-thirty, during a joint police operation one hundred and twenty-eight cases of can beers, two cases of large soft drinks and an outboard motor were discovered in the village. Inside an abandoned house, the officers also discovered a sixteen-gauge shotgun with sixteen cartridges. One person has been detained in connection with the uncustomed goods, while the firearm and ammunition has been labelled as found property.
