Gas station, car dealer hit by criminals

Two other heists occurred last night in Belize City. Sometime after closing hours, ambitious thieves broke into the office of Bravo Motors on the Western Highway. They managed to remove the company’s safe, but apparently that’s when their luck ran out. According to Bravo manager Eddie Bouloy, that safe was recovered in the yard…unopened. According to Bouloy, they are still checking to see what else may have been stolen and whether the burglary may have been an inside job.

And while those frustrated safecrackers came up empty-handed, a group of more conventional criminals last night earned their money the old fashioned way: with a gun. Around 8:00, four men entered the Tiger Mart at the Freetown Road Esso Station and pointed a chrome pistol at the cashier. They were given an undisclosed amount of money and escaped in a car. How far they will get is questionable, as the entire incident was captured in living colour on the gas station’s surveillance camera.
