Wife murdered, husband kidnapped
Tonight it appears that a murder in Chetumal over the weekend is linked to the sudden disappearance of several people in the Stann Creek District. Reports to News 5 are that sometime on Sunday, a woman identified only as Juana Sheran was found strangled at her home in Chetumal in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. On Monday, her husband, Harry Sheran disappeared from his farm, Montana Ranch, located at mile twenty-two on the Southern Highway in a highly suspicious manner. According to police, three tinted SUV’s arrived at the farm around 6:00 p.m. on Monday and left with Harry Sheran and three other people, believed to be employees. They have been identified as Ricardo Riverol, Claudia Lopez and Carlos Lopez. All four people have not been seen or heard from since. A police search of the farm led to the discovery of a drum of aviation fuel, communication equipment, five vehicles and a thirty-one foot fibreglass Mexican skiff and motor. The two crimes have not been officially connected and police are still referring to the incident in the south as a missing persons report as opposed to a kidnapping.
