Wasani Castro Fined and Disqualified

Cyclist Wasani Castro has been disqualified from the Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic following a meeting of race commissaires on Friday. Castro was recorded holding on to his team’s vehicle between miles forty-seven and forty-eight on the George Price Highway. News Five has confirmed that not only was Castro, who placed twelfth, disqualified, but also fined one hundred dollars. His father, U.D.P. Minister Edmond Castro, was also penalized with a fine of two hundred dollars for leaning out or holding supplies out of the vehicle. A second rider Rasheed Young was also disqualified and fined one hundred dollars for holding on to a motor vehicle on his return between miles nine and ten on the George Price Highway.
