Body of Guatemalan National Found in Armenia
Just before seven this morning, the body of a Santander employee was discovered in an open lot in Armenia Village on the Hummingbird Highway. It has since been identified as that of forty-seven-year-old Guatemalan national, Riden Rodas Pedro, who roomed with a co-worker in the village. Reports are that Rodas went out to a popular bar in the village, did not arrive home on Sunday night; his body was discovered hours later. News Five understands that a nurse in the village, who inspected the body, is saying that there were visible signs of injury and she believes Rodas was murdered. But police say that at this stage, no foul play is suspected and the cause of death will be determined by a pending post-mortem.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Our investigations have shown that he is a roommate of another Santander employee who last saw him alive yesterday morning before going to work. So far, the police have not observed any visible injuries. The body was removed after the scene was processed and we are still doing our investigation into this matter. The police did not see any visible sign of injury. That doesn’t mean there was none.”
