Facebook Bans Leader of Islam
The leader of the Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan has been banned by Facebook. The social media giant made the announced this afternoon that it had kicked off controversial accounts for violating its rules. One of those accounts is Farrakhan’s who is notorious for using anti-Semitic language. In this instance, Facebook cited its policy against “dangerous individuals and organizations” to bring the ban hammer down Farrakhan and other controversial leaders and public figures. Minister Farrakhan has made at least three trips to Belize. The most recent trip was in 2013 and a part of this trip, he visited the Belize Central Prison and ended with a public speech at Bird’s Isle where he spoke on a number of issues including the relationship between Belize and Guatemala. The Muslim community in Belize are followers of Farrakhan.
