Police Search Continues for Jose Bejerano Sanchez

Police continue to search for Jose Bejerano Sanchez, who is wanted for the vicious stabbing of his ex common-law wife. On Sunday, the Guatemalan national visited Alba Chavez at her workplace, Maya Star Restaurant and Bar in Belmopan. According to an eyewitness, there were no signs that Bejerano Sanchez intended to attack Chavez, but suddenly he did. He then proceeded to stab Chavez as many as eleven times to the body. Chavez’s boss intervened and struck Bejerano with a chair to free Chavez from his drunken attack. Chavez was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital where she is receiving treatment. Police gave official details of the attempted murder today saying that there is no record of domestic violence when they lived together.

“Shortly before midnight, Belmopan police responded to an information of a stabbing victim at the Western Regional Hospital where upon arrival, they observed a Hispanic female later identified as Alba Chavez with several stab wounds. Initial investigation revealed that she was at her workplace somewhere in the San Martin area of Belmopan where she was approached by her ex-common law husband, one Jose Sanchez, who inflicted several stab wounds to her. So far Mister Sanchez has not been found and police are seeking him in relation to this investigation.”

“Apparently, Mister Sanchez was under the influence when he entered her workplace.”
