Seven years after the shooting murder of Myrick Gladden, Tevin Andrewin was found guilty of the crime.  Andrewin’s trial started on February twenty-fifth, 2019 and concluded on March twentieth, 2019; it was a trial by judge without jury held before Supreme Court Justice Colin Williams. On June twenty-fourth, 2012, Myrick, along with his common-law wife and his brother, was heading home. Just past midnight when the group was on Administrative Drive in the Saint Martin’s de Porres area, they came under attack.  Gladden’s wife was shot to the calf. She says that she saw her common-law husband fall to the ground and that her brother-in-law fled. She also said that Andrewin approached her with a gun, but she ran into a nearby yard and hid under a verandah.  She claimed she saw Andrewin standing over Gladden and shooting him at close range.  During the trial, Andrewin, who was represented by Hector Guerra, denied the allegations and called no witnesses.  He also said that the evidence was weak. But the Justice thought otherwise. A date is yet to be set for sentencing. The court has ordered for a report from the Community Rehabilitation Department at the Belize Central Prison and that a victim impact assessment statement be ready at mitigation plea on behalf of the convict.
