ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Dangriga Police was called to an area between miles fifteen and sixteen on the Stann Creek Valley Road where they observed a Hispanic male person lying in a drain apparently motionless. He was later identified to be Alberto Requeña, twenty-three years of the said village. Our investigation revealed that Requeña was on his way home from work when he was approached by a male person who inflicted stab wounds to him causing the fatal injuries. So far, police have one person in custody and we also believe that we may have recovered the knife used in the stabbing.”
