Musa stresses unity in independence address
No doubt many viewers are still recovering from the long weekend, but never mind it was all in the name of celebrating twenty years of independence. To honour the anniversary, this year official ceremonies were held in the nation’s capital, where the leader of the country delivered his Independence Day address. In it, the Prime Minister called for unity across all lines.
Prime Minister Said Musa
We are all increasingly aware of the need to unite, not just among ourselves, but also with our neighbours in Central America and the Caribbean to face the challenges and opportunities of globalisation. At home, we are more united in our determination to
eradicate poverty, to provide quality education and health services to all our people regardless of where they live. To create an environment where greater employment is possible and where workers’ rights as well as the human rights of all our people are respected. And we are becoming increasingly aware that, as a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural nation, we can only unite and succeed in our endeavours if we have a policy of inclusion, of tolerance, of celebrating diversity
