ComPol Williams: Peaceful Weekend
Over nine hundred plus officers sat the Police Department’s promotional exams this Saturday; a little less than half were from Belize City alone. And while the results of that test is pending, the Commissioner of Police Chester Williams took the time to point out that even with that many officers away from duties, the week was peaceful for the most part across the country. Here’s what he had to say.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“It goes to show that the efforts of the police in maintaining law and order and in keeping our citizenry safe is working. Yes at times we have little flare ups here and there and we try to find ways and means as to how we can quickly diffuse them. CYDP has been a very integral part of what we do as well in terms of reaching out to the different groups and try to see how we can streamline and make things more peaceful between them with a view to ensure that we minimize the issue of retaliation as well as to minimise the issue of flare ups in different areas.”
