Robbery/Shooting in Cristo Rey
Takeem Maskall is recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, which he sustained on Thursday morning during an armed robbery in Cristo Rey Village in the Cayo District. He had travelled to a farm in the village to make a purchase, but while at the gate to the property, he was accosted by a masked gunman, who later opened fire on him. The twenty-three-year-old was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash as well a bag containing personal documents. Assistant Commissioner Joseph Myvett says that investigators are looking for a person of interest.

“While he had visited a farm on the Cristo Rey road in order to make a purchase, he had stopped at the security gate and whilst being there, he was approached by a male person wearing mask, who demanded money and as a result, the person fired a shot which caught him in the left lower abdomen. The bag he was carrying with documents and monies was stolen after which that person made good his escape assisted by another male person on a motorbike. So far police is seeking one person in relation to this investigation.”
