Corporals Leonard Nunez & Hallet King to Stand Trial for Manslaughter of Hilberto Sotz

Also in the Supreme Court, a pair of cops, Corporals Leonard Nunez and Hallet King, will be facing trial for the manslaughter death of Hilberto Sotz. The young man was badly beaten while he was on remand at the Caye Caulker police station and died later at the clinic. He was detained for handling stolen goods. Both cops were placed on interdiction and were initially charged for murder, but the charge was reduced to manslaughter. Justice Colin Williams has set a trial date for June tenth when Nunez and King are to return to court.
