Former Magistrate Norman Rodriguez releases “To Go or Not To Go; the I.C.J.”
“To Go or Not To Go; the I.C.J.” – is a book authored by former magistrate Norman Rodriguez. The sixty-four page book contains a history of the unfounded claim and seeks answers on whether or not the International Court of Justice is the solution to the Belize-Guatemala territorial dispute. Rodriguez says the book is a good guide for an informed decision.

“Belizeans need to make a decision. The book basically takes you on the journey of our history as it relates to this unfounded Guatemala claim—where we came from and where we want to go. Like I said, it touches on different aspects of the history and it’s an attempt to get Belizeans to educate themselves before delving into a referendum being led by others. We are a nation; we seem to like to follow and that is why we always find ourselves in problems where we have to blame others for what happens to us. But here we have an opportunity to make a decision and to send a message—not only to Guatemala, but to those people in Belize who believe that they know all about this thing. No one person knows everything about this whole Guatemalan claim to Belize and that is why each Belizean must educate him or herself before making that decision tomorrow.”
