A Fight between 2 Teenagers in Corozal Town Ends in Fatal Stabbing
The life of a young woman who had her own share of misfortune was cut short in Corozal on Sunday night. Nineteen-year-old Ana Villanueva was visiting with a friend when she became embroiled in a fight with another young woman who lives nearby and with whom she had a conflict. It is said that the teenager who knifed Anna to death had threatened her minutes before and returned with the deadly weapon, which was retrieved by police by the end of the night. Police have detained another teen, Zennia Armstrong, for Anna’s killing. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.
A girl on girl fight in Corozal Town ended with the stabbing death of nineteen-year-old Ana Villanueva. The teenage woman was visiting with a friend on Fourth Street North when another teen, with whom she had conflict, passed by with her baby and threatened to harm Villanueva. The accused, nineteen-year-old Zennia Armstrong, returned minutes later after which a fight ensued. A knife was then introduced in the fight and used to stab Villanueva once to the chest. The entire ordeal unfolded in front of Villanueva’s friend, who recounted what happened.

Villanueva’s friend says that she too had issues previously with the suspect, who lives about four houses down on Fourth Street North. Even though the attack on Anna was premeditated, she says she pleaded with Armstrong to go home and leave them alone, but that did not happen.
“She come back. She reach by the lane, Anna get hype up and I tell Anna, “No, sit down back.” Anna sit down back. She come and I hold Anna hand, I hold Anna hand. “Sometime around eleven-forty-five p.m., police were called to an area on Tenth Avenue and Fourth Street North responding to a stabbing incident where upon arrival they observed a dark complexion female lying on the side of the street apparently motionless. Her name was later learnt to be Anna Villanueva, nineteen years old. So far, Zennia Armstrong, who is the accused, is in police custody and police have since recovered one knife from the area of the scene.”
ACP Joseph Myvett says that investigators continue to receive information on this latest homicide and believe that alcohol was a factor in the stabbing murder.

“Sir is there a history of dispute between these two women?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“None reported. That was also reported to the police that there have been previous incidents between both parties, however, no official report was made in that regard.”
Villanueva was the valedictorian for 2018 graduating class from Ladyville Technical High School and was an aspiring nurse, but her life was cut short. It’s a very emotional time for the family and friends of Villanueva because the family has been grappling with a series of misfortunes.
