4 Belize City Men are Charged for Alleged Gang Involvement
The police department is once again cracking down on individuals believed to be involved in gang activity. This morning in the courtroom of Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, four alleged gang members from rival groups in the city were arraigned and remanded to the Belize Central Prison. Tevin Cacho, Ulide Allen, Akeem Augustine and Jeffery Buller were charged separately and are now under lockdown pending either a bail application at the Supreme Court as early as Friday or they will spend ninety days on remand as they wait to be granted bail through the lower court. Cacho, who is accused of being a member of the Backa Lands Crips, appeared unrepresented and pleaded not guilty to the charge. Allen is also accused of belonging to the PIV Bloods. He was granted bail just last week for his involvement in a shooting incident on Coney Drive on February sixth. Jeffery Buller is also accused of belonging to the Backa Lands, while Augustine, on the other hand, is accused of being a member of the PIV gang.
