Cocaine destroyed by police
Over the weekend, police destroyed almost all of the two thousand, three hundred and eleven pounds of cocaine seized last week in the nation’s fourth biggest drug bust. The coke–minus a small amount retained as legal evidence–was burned in the incinerator at New River Enterprises in Orange Walk. One suspect was captured in the bust, while three of his colleagues are still at large. The cocaine, believed to be of Colombian origin destined for the U.S., was intercepted by a joint British-Belizean anti-drug operation off the coast of Belize.
